Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SC Blueprint Bot is operated by vandestadt.com, registered in Mauritius. For anything in this policy, write to info@vandestadt.com.

The bot is a fan project for Star Citizen players. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cloud Imperium Games.

2. What we store

The bot stores the following in its own database:

• Your Discord user ID, when you upload or sync a blueprint. This is the permanent link between you and the items you are credited with crafting.
• Your Discord display name as it was at the moment you uploaded. Names shown in the bot’s replies are looked up live from Discord so they stay current, but the name recorded at upload time is kept alongside the upload.
• The server (guild) ID, so each server sees its own crafter roster.
• Your shopping lists — the list name, the items, the quantities, and when each was added, against your user ID and the server.
• Blueprint data extracted from screenshots you upload: item name, parts, materials, quantities, fabrication time and statistics.
• Server configuration set by an admin: which channels the bot watches, and who configured them.
• Short-lived link codes, if you connect the SC Log Monitor desktop app. They carry your user ID and server ID and expire after ten minutes.
• Timestamps for the above.

3. What we do not store

We do not store the screenshots themselves — see the next section. We do not store your email address, your Star Citizen account details, your IP address, or the contents of any channel the bot is not configured to watch. The bot has no analytics and no advertising.

4. How screenshots are handled

When you post a Fabrication Kiosk screenshot in the upload channel, the bot downloads it to a temporary file, sends the image to the Google Gemini API for text extraction, and deletes that temporary file as soon as the extraction finishes — including when the extraction fails. No copy of the image is kept.

Only the extracted text is written to our database. The bot also deletes your original Discord message after a successful upload, though Discord may retain it on their own systems under their policy, not ours.

5. Who else receives your data

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. Data leaves our systems in exactly two directions:

• Discord — everything the bot does happens through Discord’s API, under Discord’s own Privacy Policy.
• Google — screenshots you upload are sent to the Google Gemini API to be read. Google processes them under the terms that apply to that API. If you would rather no image of yours reached Google, do not upload screenshots; the SC Log Monitor route and the JSON upload route do not send images anywhere.

6. Third-party lookups that carry no data about you

The bot fetches the UEX Corp commodity catalogue to check material names against it. Those requests ask for a category listing and contain nothing about you or your uploads — the comparison happens on our side.

7. Lawful basis (GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of contractual necessity — you asked the bot for a service it cannot provide without knowing who uploaded what — and legitimate interest, for keeping per-server settings and preventing abuse.

8. How long we keep it

Crafter credits and shopping lists are kept while the bot is in use in your server, or until you ask us to delete them. Link codes expire after ten minutes and are cleared. Extracted blueprint data about items in the game is not personal data and is kept as part of the shared database.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our processing of it.

To exercise any of these, write to info@vandestadt.com or ask in the support server, from the Discord account concerned. We will respond within 30 days. You can also export your own crafting record at any time with the /blueprint-export command, without asking us.

In Mauritius the supervisory authority is the Data Protection Office. If you are in the EU or EEA you may also complain to your own national data protection authority.

10. Children

The bot is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age required to use Discord in your country, whichever is higher.
